Nikiforov, Anton

Visiting Fellows in Sciences

Research field

Plasma technologies.

Profile

Anton Nikiforov received the PhD degree in 2004 in the field of Physical Chemistry from the Institute of Solution Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences. In years 2005-2006 he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Gent University (Belgium). From year 2009 he is with the Ghent University, the Department of Applied Physics, Research Unit of Plasma Technology (RUPT). His current research interests include physics and applications of plasma-liquid systems; plasma diagnostics and laser spectroscopy; plasma engineering of new surfaces with nanoparticles incorporation and plasma-surface interactions in the context of surface treatment of polymers and biomaterials. He published more than 75 scientific papers on diagnostics of non‐thermal plasmas and electrical discharges in water treatment processes, 4 books chapters and was a participant on more than 70 conferences including number of invited presentations.
