Kossek, Ellen Ernst

Ellen Ernst Kossek is the Basil S. Turner Professor at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management and Research Director of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence. She holds degrees from Yale University, the University of Michigan, and Mount Holyoke College. Her research focuses on organizational and leader support of work-life and gender diversity, flexibility and boundary management and interventions, and has been funded by the U.S National Institutes of Health, the Alfred P. Sloan and Russell Sage Foundations. Dr. Kossek has won many awards including the Work-Life Legacy award for helping to build or advance the work-life movement and the Sage Scholarly achievement awards for advancing understanding of gender and diversity in organizations, and the Rosabeth Moss Kanter award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. She was the first elected president of the Work-Family Researchers Network, a founding member of the Work Family and Health Network, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She has been invited to give keynote speeches in over a dozen countries and works globally to advance understanding policy and practices to advance positive connections between gender, work-life and diversity practices in organizations and society.
