Profile
Gabriela Topa Cantisano is Full Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology at the UNED of Madrid. Since 2005, she has been teaching courses and seminars in W/O Psychology as member of the faculty at the universities of Madrid, Alicante and Bologna (pre-post graduate, and doctoral studies). Regarding granted research, she has been member in eight major research programmes granted by both local (universities) and national (Ministry for Scientific Research) funding agencies for scientific research. Among them, she was Main Researcher of the national research programme: “Psychosocial factors affecting retirement decision processes ” in 2009. She was also Member of the Spanish group for the EU Program “Azioni Integrate Italia-Spagna” (Personal and psychosocial outcomes in pre-retirement condition), in collaboration con U. Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid (prof. Carlos Alcover de la Hera).
She has more than 85 scientific publications, 57 belonging to referred journals on the following topics: workplace interpersonal and professional skills, personal initiative, positive thinking and networking. She has also organized and conducted courses for young students, at the time of entry into the University, to prepare them in the skills necessary for academic and occupational success as psychologists, teachers and other professions. She has taught specialized courses for middle and high school teachers’ in Europe and Latin America. As a specialist in advanced data analysis in social and behavioural sciences, such as meta-analysis, structural equation modelling and multilevel analysis, she has conducted courses and seminars on these methodologies, both in Spain and Italy. Since 2010, she has prepared and conducted a training program on “Management skills development for principals and teachers” of Spanish public and private schools with great success in attendance and dissemination in the Mass media.
